What are WordCamps?
WordCamp is a conference that focuses on everything WordPress.
WordCamps are informal, community-organized events that are put together by WordPress users like you. Everyone from casual users to core developers can participate, share ideas, and get to know each other. WordCamps brings WordPress users, developers and coders together. It’s a non-profit event. The first WordCamp was organized in San Francisco by Matt Mullenweg in 2006, and since then local communities around the world have organized hundreds of others.

What to expect from WordCamp Event?
If you will be attending a WordCamp for the first time, then you must be wondering what to expect from the event. Though every WordCamp is different (based on the organizers, speakers and attendees of each event), there are some general guidelines that all WordCamps follow, as well as some things you can expect at your WordCamp no matter where it is.

It’s all about WordPress. The use of the WordCamp name indicates that it is a standalone event dedicated to WordPress only. The content of sessions is purely focused on WordPress, its Users, Developers and Coders. Issues like blogging, business, social media, site optimizing, website speed, monetization, plugin development, theme development, and others that are purely related to WordPress will be included for the benefit of the Attendees.

Are WordCamps for Programmers?
WordCamps do not discriminate and WordPress users, developers, designers, and other enthusiasts should all feel welcome at a WordCamp, regardless of their experience level. People from all walk of life can attend, meet, share, and learn from WordCamp because they are not meant to be big, fancy, expensive conferences, they are meant to be low-key local gatherings that are affordable, inexpensive, for everyone.

What is WordCamp Islamabad?
200+ WordPress enthusiasts will meet on 10th November, 2018 to exchange knowledge followed by a networking. The sessions themselves will be in a wide variety of formats, such as lectures, demos and panel discussion. One session is approximately of 25 minutes long, including 5 minutes Q&As.

What is our motivation?
Team of WordCamp Islamabad is volunteering to bring WordCamp in Islamabad.
Beside the perks of community building and networking, WordCamp Islamabad wants to build a positive image of Pakistan in front of international market.
We would like to

  • bring awareness about WordPress as a career.
  • Encourage Blogging and give voice to youth.
  • Explore freelancing opportunities.
  • Build WordPress community.
  • Network with WordPress GURUs.

WordCamp opens a door for those people who can bring international businesses in Pakistan. It’s for everyone who is a newbie to WordPress or has been using WordPress and who is eager to learn more about WordPress. What to bring at WordCamp Islamabad?
If you’re thinking of attending your first WordCamp, you might also want to know what you should bring along. A few things you’ll want to have with you include:

  • Notebook and a pen.
    Paper is handy for taking notes, autographs, names and contact information of people you meet at the event.
  • Business cards.
    This kind of events are perfect for networking growth. A business card is a piece of your company’s direct marketing plan. So keep few business cards with you to take advantage of any opportunities that arise.

Apart from Physical items, you should have an open mind and positive attitude to attend this event. Ability to and listen and absorb what others have to say, is a must quality to get more out of this event.

If you are a Student, Teacher, Professor, Doctor, Engineer, Marketer, House wife, YouTuber, and if you want to earn some extra bucks from Internet, then WordPress is your thing. WordPress is as easy as pie. You don’t have to be a Coder to be a WordPress Developer. WordPress is too easy to learn and implement, anyone can start working on it in a few hours.
