For two days, the city will bring together WordPress developers, designers, content creators, business owners, students, and community members from across Pakistan and beyond.

A WordCamp is more than a schedule of talks. Some of the best conversations happen outside the sessions: over chai, on a short walk, or while exploring a new place with people you met that morning. That is why we put together this guide.

If you are travelling from another city or country, it is worth adding a few hours to your trip to see Islamabad. The city is calm, green, and well planned, with the Margalla Hills always in view. Late October is also one of the most pleasant times to visit, with mild days and cool evenings.

Here are three landmarks that give you a quick but meaningful picture of the city, its history, and its culture.

Why Explore Islamabad During WordCamp?

Visiting a few landmarks adds real value to your WordCamp experience:

Understand the local community better. Seeing the city’s culture and history helps you connect with the people you meet at the event.

Build stronger connections. A shared visit with fellow attendees often turns a quick introduction into a lasting professional friendship.

Take a break and recharge. Two days of talks and networking can be tiring. A calm evening at a landmark is a good way to reset.

Return with more than notes. You leave with new ideas from the sessions and a real sense of the place that hosted them.

Faisal Mosque

Faisal Mosque is the most recognised landmark in Islamabad. It sits at the foot of the Margalla Hills, and its design is very different from a traditional mosque. There are no domes; instead, its sloping roof and four tall minarets give it the shape of a large desert tent.

Designed by Turkish architect Vedat Dalokay and completed in 1986, it is one of the largest mosques in the world.
