Volunteering is one of the best ways to experience WordCamp from behind the scenes, meet amazing people from the WordPress community, build new connections, and contribute to making the event memorable for everyone.

Whether this is your first WordCamp or you’ve volunteered before, we’d love to have you join us!

Roles and Responsibilities

Volunteers support the WordCamp Islamabad 2026 Organising Team by helping with different tasks before and during the event to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Volunteer roles may include:

• Registration and attendee check-in
• Welcome desk and attendee support
• Session room assistance
• Speaker support
• Stage and microphone coordination
• Photography and media assistance
• Social media and content support
• Sponsor area assistance
• Help desk and general guidance
• Venue coordination
• Swag and merchandise distribution
• Contributor Day support
• Other event-day activities

What’s Involved?

Volunteering doesn’t mean you’ll miss the whole WordCamp!

We’ll organise volunteer responsibilities into manageable shifts wherever possible, giving you time to contribute to the event while still enjoying sessions, meeting speakers, visiting sponsor booths, networking with attendees, and experiencing WordCamp as a participant.

Some volunteers may also have opportunities to help before the event with preparation and coordination.

Volunteering for Contributor Day activities may also be available depending on the final event schedule.

Final shift timings, responsibilities, and volunteer benefits will be shared with selected volunteers.

What We Expect From Volunteers

Volunteers are one of the friendly faces of WordCamp Islamabad.

We ask every volunteer to:

• Be kind, respectful, helpful, and welcoming.
• Follow the WordCamp Code of Conduct.
• Arrive on time for assigned shifts.
• Communicate clearly with volunteer coordinators.
• Follow instructions from the Organising Team.
• Wear the provided volunteer identification or t-shirt during assigned shifts.
• Support attendees, speakers, sponsors, and fellow volunteers whenever possible.
• Help us create an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone.

Most importantly, bring your enthusiasm and community spirit!

Who Can Volunteer?

Everyone is welcome to apply.

You don’t need to be a WordPress expert or have previous volunteering experience. We welcome students, developers, designers, marketers, bloggers, freelancers, agency professionals, business owners, community members, and anyone interested in becoming part of the WordPress community.

We’re especially looking for people who are:

• Enthusiastic and willing to help
• Friendly and approachable
• Good communicators
• Responsible and punctual
• Comfortable working as part of a team
• Interested in contributing to the WordPress community

Previous WordCamp or event volunteering experience is helpful, but it is not required.

Volunteer Requirements

To become a WordCamp Islamabad 2026 volunteer, you should:

• Be available during your assigned volunteer shift.
• Be comfortable communicating with attendees and the Organising Team.
• Have or create a WordPress.org account if required for event registration and community communication.
• Agree to follow the WordCamp Code of Conduct and volunteer guidelines.
• Be committed to fulfilling the responsibilities assigned to you.

If you’re new to WordPress or attending your first WordCamp, don’t worry — you’re still encouraged to apply!
