Whether you are a developer, designer, writer, translator, tester, photographer, educator, student, freelancer, or simply someone interested in WordPress, there is a place for you at Contributor Day.
And if you have never contributed before, that is completely fine.

Contributor Day will take place one day before the main WordCamp Islamabad 2026 Conference Day.
It is a different experience from the main conference. Instead of spending the day listening to talks and sessions, Contributor Day gives you an opportunity to sit with other contributors, work with a WordPress team, and make a real contribution to the project.

What Is Contributor Day?
Contributor Day is a dedicated part of WordCamp where attendees come together to contribute to the WordPress project.
Unlike a traditional conference session where you mainly listen to a speaker, Contributor Day is about getting involved.
You choose an area of WordPress that interests you, join other contributors working in that area, receive guidance from experienced community members, and start working on real contribution tasks.
That might mean:
- Testing a WordPress feature
- Reporting or reproducing a bug
- Improving documentation
- Translating WordPress
- Helping WordPress users

Contributor Day is a hands-on event, so bringing your own laptop is strongly recommended.

What Will Happen on Contributor Day?
Contributor Day is designed to be practical and hands-on.
When you arrive, you will have the opportunity to connect with the contributor teams, meet the people working at each table, and find an area that matches your interests.
A simple way to think about the day is:
Arrive → Choose a team → Meet your contributors → Pick a task → Start contributing → Ask questions → Keep learning
You will not be expected to figure everything out on your own.
Each contributor team will have people who can help newcomers understand how the team works and guide them through their first contribution.
You might spend the morning working on one task, take a break, and then continue working with your team or explore another contribution area.
The goal is simple:

What Can Your First Contribution Look Like?
Your first contribution does not have to be something huge.
